LifePoint Family and Friends,

How are you doing in this new reality? For almost seven weeks we’ve been living through a global pandemic. And it’s affected almost everything about our normal lives.

These past few weeks, I’ve thought much about our church family. I feel proud of our family, close to our family, inspired by our family. The people of this family called LifePoint are incredible! We see needs and meet them. We share, we love, we encourage. When we get knocked down; we get back up. We give, we comfort, we grow, we hope. We’re a family! And not even a global pandemic can take that from us. Thank you for your Christ-like generosity and compassion. The church really has left the building!

Maybe you know of people who have contracted the coronavirus. Now you can add the Dukes to your list. I wanted to let you know that both Tricia and I have tested positive for Covid-19. This sickness is no fun but we’re making progress daily. Imagine a giant case of the flu—fever, night sweats, cough and extreme fatigue. We’re grateful for your prayers, and we’re confident we’ll experience a full recovery.

We have a sense that God is with us. And, as I’m fond of saying, there are no wasted experiences with God. For the believer in Jesus, in every circumstance, God is with you, loving you, and working everything for your good.

I look forward to being together again as a church family. We don’t really know when that will be or what it will look like. Until then, we’re full speed ahead with our online services and resources. Make sure you take advantage of doing church in a new way during this new reality.

One more thing. Thank you for your continued, generous financial investment in the ministry. The easiest way to give, now more than ever, is to set up a recurring schedule for contributing online. If you’ve not already done that, you can go here for a quick few steps.

I hope you’re growing closer to Jesus during this exceptional time. Adversity has a way of revealing what’s inside of us. And each of us can move closer to Jesus and become more like Him. I’m glad you’re part of the family. I’m honored to serve alongside you!

Gratefully in His grace,

Joe Duke
