WHAT IS NIGHT TO SHINE?

Night to Shine is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs. This event is hosted each year on the Friday before Valentine’s Day by churches across the globe, bringing congregations, communities, and families living with disability closer together in fellowship.

It’s a night not only for our guests to shine, but for churches to shine, for volunteers to shine, and most importantly, for Christ to shine. Although each event is a little different, some cornerstone activities found worldwide included in Night to Shine are a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, a catered meal, a Respite Room for parents and caretakers, a Sensory Room, and, of course, dancing! The highlight of the night comes when every honored guest is crowned a king or queen, receiving their very own crown or tiara!

In 2026, LifePoint Church hosted more than 100 guests and involved over 150 volunteers in Night to Shine. We are thrilled to be hosting Night to Shine again in 2027!

Are parents required to stay with their honored guests?

Parents may choose to either enjoy the Respite Room or stay with their guest as their Buddy for the evening. If a parent wishes to enjoy the Respite Room but also spend part of the evening with their guest, we will assign a Buddy to their guest and also require a background check for the parent.

Why do all volunteers need a background check?

For the safety of our staff, volunteers and honored guests, LifePoint Church is required to have current background checks in place for each of our Night to Shine volunteers, any vendors who will be directly interacting with honored guests, staff, and any parents or caregivers who will be staying with their honored guest during the event.
