Creative Arts Camp 2023

July 31 - August 4

LifePoint Church presents Creative Arts Camp 2023!

July 31 – August 4
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This fast-paced, highly interactive, fun camp will provide students who have completed grades K-5 with an opportunity to explore the Arts through drama, dance, vocal music, percussion, visual arts, puppetry, photography, and more!

Older students (6th grade and up) can also be a part of camp as Camp Counselors.

What Is Creative Arts Camp?

Students who have completed grades K-5 will have an opportunity to explore the Arts through drama, dance, vocal music, percussion, visual arts, puppetry, photography, and more.  While campers are exploring the Arts, they will also be learning how to follow God while using the talents He has given them. Campers will select a  Focus Group to be their area of interest for the week. At the end of the week on Friday, August 4 at 7 pm, we will have a special performance for the public that will showcase all campers and their Focus Groups.

This exciting camp will group students by age with both a Counselor and a Counselor-in-Training.  Campers will travel with their small groups and build relationships throughout the week.  Creative Arts Camp 2023 is a must for your child!

LifePoint Church’s Creative Arts Camp exists so that children:

  • Discover more about Jesus and His desire to be their friend.
  • Build relationships with peers and camp staff who model for them how to follow God.
  • Experience different forms that worship can take while honing the talents God has placed within them.
  • Celebrate God through the Arts.

Workshops

Campers will go to classes each day for four days and work in the following areas:
Campers will enjoy daily Bible lessons presented in creative ways. They will learn practical applications of God’s Word to use in everyday situations.

Campers will find a whole new beat by exploring a variety of rhythm exercises using non-traditional instruments.

Campers will focus on interpreting music through creative movement. They will work on the dances that they will perform for the opening and closing of the Friday night show.

Campers will sharpen performance skills through a variety of theatre games, improvisation, and exercises in character development.

Campers will creatively build a puppet that they will use as they learn the fundamentals of puppetry.  Using their puppets the campers will also learn how to lip sync with music.

Campers will work on using their voices to praise God. They will work on the songs that they will perform for the opening and closing of the Friday night show.

Focus Groups

In addition to attending workshop classes, each camper will be involved in a specific Focus Group (selected during registration). This is a specialized interest class made up of various ages. Focus Groups will meet one period every day to prepare for their final performance or activity on Friday evening.
Two Bucket Band Focus Groups (K-2nd graders and 3rd-5th graders) will perform Stomp-like numbers using a variety of bucket-like drums for the Friday night show.

The Dance Focus Group will perform two different style dances for the Friday night show.

The Drama Focus Group will perform several short sketches for the drama portions of the Friday night show.

The Video Production Focus Group (limited to 5th graders) will be trained in video production. They will then have the opportunity to use their skills as they record the final performance. The work of this Video Production group would be available to each participant as a download.

The Visual Arts Focus Group will use various mediums in 2-D and 3-D art for their creative expression. The work of these artists will decorate our lobby for our Friday evening program. These groups will also present their work on stage for the Friday night show.
