Direction. How often has it alluded you? Come on, be honest. How many times have you continued driving around knowing full well you were lost? Or, how ‘bout this one: Can you remember a time when you wished you would have followed that impossible to read 3 point font in the instruction guide? Maybe the crib would have had four legs, or the handlebars on the bicycle would have ended up facing the right way, and been on top. Now, contrast that with when you've had clear direction. Isn't there something refreshing, energizing, and rewarding in knowing what you should be doing, and how to do it? For instance, you've followed the recipe just right, and "bam!" it looks better than if Emeril himself pulled it from the oven. When you are clear on how and what to do, it encourages you to keep going, and with passion.

We don't think leading Small Groups should be any different. You could go in a lot of different directions as a group leader. Out of the many things you as a small group leader could focus on, we want you to be clear on what you should focus on. That's why we've developed the 7 Essentials of Small Group Leadership.

Essentials is simply an introduction, an orientation into Small Group Leadership at LifePoint Church. It is held regularly so that potential, new, and existing Leaders can attend. We want everyone to be working out of the same playbook, and everyone heading in the same direction. While not every group will look the same, these 7 Essentials describe the expectations that we have of each group leader.  Our next Essentials will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010.  Click here to register for this event.  For more information about Essentials, please contact Lois at .
